  • donut pan

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp all spice
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom
  • 1/4 tsp anise seed grounded up
  • 1 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg room temp
  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tbsp liquid coconut oil can sub in vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp orange extract

Cinnamon Glaze Icing

  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp orange extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1-2 cups Powdered sugar this depends on how runny or thick you want your glaze. If you want it more drippy, stick to 1 cup, if you want it thicker try closer to 2. Start with one and slowly add in more to thicken if desired.

  • preheat oven to 350° and spray your donut pan and set aside
  • first whisk all your dry ingredients together in a large bowl
  • in another bowl or large enough measuring cup, add all your wet ingredients together and whisk until combined
  • make a well in the middle of your dry ingredients and pour in your wet ingredients to the dry and mix together until combined and no more dry spots are seen.
  • then in a large piping bag (or large zip lock bag) pour your mixture in and cut a hole on the end. Large enough to get the mixture out. ** Tip for doing this is to put your bag in a large cup and fold the ends over the sides of the cup to help you get your mixture in without making too much of a mess**
  • pipe your donut mixture into your donut pan. You want the mixture to fill up about 3/4 of the way up on the sides.
  • bake in the oven for 11-12 minutes; For mine I checked at 10 and added another minute or 2 to get the perfect texture.
  • repeat with remaining mixture! This should make about 14 donuts depending on the size of your pan. I used a 6 donut pan.

to make the Glaze

  • mix the melted butter, vanilla creamer, vanilla extract together in a bowl.
  • add in 1 cup of powdered sugar to start with. Depending on the consistency desired you can add in a little more to thicken it up but you don't want it too thick like cake icing
  • sprinkle in your cinnamon and mix together.
  • dip your cooled donuts into your glaze
  • enjoy!
