Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies

Welcome welcome to my new website and blog!! I am so excited to be sharing this little journey of mine with you all!!

I couldn’t think of a better recipe to start this off with than the Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies that I have been working on perfecting since the beginning of my journey!!

These cookies are the biggest hit with my family and friends and I have loved getting to share it with all of them, and now the recipe with you all.

I won’t bore you all with a long drawn out post before getting to the recipe (because I know thats why you all are here 😉) but let me just give you a few tips real quick on making sure that your cookies come out to perfection!

Tips for the best cookies!

  • you definitely want to line your cookie sheet with the parchment paper, it will help the cookies not brown too much on the bottom and get off the pan easier as well!
  • having at least 2 cookie sheets will help since you will need to let the cookies rest on the cookie sheet for at least 20 minutes after taking them from the oven. Having an extra pan (or 2) you can constantly be rotating batches out of the oven.
  • when you take them out of the oven, they should look pale and puffy, normally with cookies you’d think they still aren’t done, but I promise you, you definitely want to take them out at that point and let them rest on the sheet for that 20 minutes (although I’m definitely guilty of trying one before that 20 minutes is up lol)
  • store them in a cool dry place (I literally use an old peppermint bark tin I had from Christmas and that works just fine! lol)
  • they are even better the next day!

Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies

The best ooey, gooey, chewy chocolate chip cookies with a little twist to them
Servings 48 cookies
Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 8 minutes
resting time 20 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 30 minutes

Equipment

  • cookie sheet or 2 (I usually end up using two)
  • parchment paper
  • oven
  • mixer

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 16 tbsp melted unsalted butter or two sticks melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1 tbsp molasses
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 – 1 cup nutella you'll use about 1 tsp per cookie to stuff them
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • set your oven to 350° and line your ungreased cookie sheets with your parchment paper and set aside
  • take your flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt and sift them together in one bowl and set aside
  • put your sugars togerher in the mixing bowl and add in your melted butter and mix on medium until you have a creamy texture
  • next add in your eggs, vanilla and almond extract, molasses and mix just until they are combined in there (dont over do it)
  • slowly add in your dry ingredients until they are mixed in well
  • next fold in your chocolate chips
  • get 1 tablespoons of dough and make a little divet in the center, take 1 tsp of nutella, put in the center of that divet and fold the dough slightly around the nutella but still leaving some showing. You may have some nutella oozing out and thats okay!
  • repeat this until you have your first cookie tray lined, you'll want to leave about 2 inches between each dough ball to allow room for it to spread when baking. I am usually able to get 12 per cookie sheet.
  • pop into the oven for 8-10 minutes. (8 minutes gives you the perfect chewy cookie in my opinion!) They are going to look kind of puffy and white when you take them out, but this is PERFECT. Leave them on that cookie sheet for another 20 mintutes before putting on a cooling rack.
  • repeat with remaining dough!
  • Grab some milk and ENJOY!!!
